Karkkidaka kanji (medicinal porridge )

 Karkitakakanji is a medicinal porridge

Karkitaka month is one of the most important months for the Malayalees.  This is something that can be prepared very easily.  As well as being at the forefront of quality.  It is a traditional medicine prescribed in Kerala for health care.

Karkitaka porridge is very good for us to boost our immune system.  It also helps in smoothing the digestive process.  It is good to drink this porridge at any time in the morning or evening.

Items required

1/2 cup of dried rice 

Sesame seeds      1 tbsp

Mustard                1 tbsp

Cumin                    1 tbsp

1/4 tablespoon of turmeric powder

 Fenugreek             1 tbsp

 Coconut milk         1/2 cup coconut

 5 leaves of mango tree 

 4 number of jackfruit tree leaves

 Enough salt. 

how to prepare

First, wash the rice well and let it soak for 30 minutes.  Then wash the mustard, sesame, fenugreek and cumin and soak in water for 30 minutes.  After 30 minutes, grind mustard, fenugreek and cumin into a paste.

 Then you can put the washed rice in a pot.  Add roasted paste and turmeric powder.  Then cut the leaves of the mangotree and jackfruit tree and put them in the pot.

 Then add enough water and cook the porridge.  After frying the porridge, add coconut milk and cook on low heat for another 5 minutes.  Karkitakakanji is ready. Everyone should be ready.  This is a very medicinal food.
